Psyche conjunct the North Node of the Moon – March 2021

Psyche conjunct the North Node of the Moon – March 2021

Once upon a time…there was an asteroid named Psyche and she was exactly conjunct the future destiny of the universe.  Hold-up! That isn’t just a story, it is actually happening.  Psyche and the North Node are about to exactly conjunct in Gemini, but they will be conjunct most of March 2021.

Psyche means “soul” in Greek and in astrology she represents not just our soul, but our perceived needs, particularly in the relationship department. When she is conjunct the North Node of the Moon it is time to take inventory of your soul’s journey and what — and maybe who — you need for the road ahead.

One of the things that I love about Psyche is that her mythology is the basis for several fairy tales: Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. Even though Psyche struggles with experiences that are frightening and heart-breaking, they allow her to mature and undergo great personal transformation; leading to the discovery of her authentic self. The asteroid Psyche was discovered in on March 17, 1852, during Pisces Season.  Is it any wonder that Pisces rules the 12th House, and relates to the mind and the deep connection to the soul?  I am sure Carl Jung’s reply would be, “Duh!”

The Nodes of the Moon are elliptical points, not actual celestial objects.  The North Node represents our dharma (future destiny), and the South Node represents our karma (past/past life).  They always travel retrograde, and they are always exactly opposite in a chart.  You have your own nodes in your natal chart, but the nodes in the main chart, the collective chart, impacts all our lives.

Currently, the North Node in the main chart is in Gemini and the South Node is in Sagittarius.  The Gemini/Sagittarius axis deals with gathering information/needing to find meaning in our lives. With Psyche conjunct our collective future destiny in Gemini (the sign of the Twins) it could be time to consider the duality of the world.  Remember, there are two sides to every story, and then there’s the truth.

The  Psyche/North Node conjunction goes on most of this month but will be exact on Saturday, March 6 at 15 degrees and 21 minutes of Gemini. If you plot Psyche in your chart (she is asteroid #16) you can find your true soul’s desire.

  • If you have anything between 13 – 17 degrees of any of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) you could really feel this challenge to your perception or understanding of your future path and who you might be taking, or not taking, with you.
  • If you have anything between those same degrees in Libra, or especially Aquarius, you could experience this as a huge personal breakthrough.  Right now, Jupiter is conjunct Mercury in the around that 17 – 18 degree mark of Aquarius so this could be hugely inspirational for everyone but especially folks with major aspect at those degrees.

As we experience soul growth our story continues to change and evolve. Studying your natal chart can help you understand how you have changed, and where you are evolving to.  If you are over 35 years of age you might want to consider getting a progressed chart done; it can be quite enlightening since it tracks the evolution of your chart placements, which progress as you live your life.  So, for example, a Capricorn could eventually become more like a Pisces as time goes on. I don’t know about you — but after climbing up all those mountains — taking a nice long swim could be the best happily-ever-after.

Mars in Gemini – March 3 – April 23, 2021

Mars in Gemini – March 3 – April 23, 2021

Get ready for bright ideas and brilliant conversations. Communication will be speeding up and flying free as Mars moves into Gemini. The last time that the warrior traveled through Gemini was in 2019.

Most recently, this passionate, feisty warrior spent six months transiting in his rulership of Aries (8/16/20 – 1/6/21). So, with his move into Taurus (fixed Earth) at the beginning of the year, we all may have gotten a bit bogged down with overindulgence. With Mars in the sign of the bull we sleep more, we eat more; we take our time.  But Mars is about passion, volatility, and urgency. So now that Mars is moving into Gemini (mutable air), get ready to fly.

Mars in mutable air is the passionate, chatty, social butterfly.  After all of this time in lockdown we can feel the winds of change. We want to get out and communicate and be in the world. Most likely, we will start to see the virus begin to ebb, and this will allow us the opportunity to get out there. It’s time for the discussions and interactions that we have put off or haven’t been able to get to for the last year.

There are some pitfalls to this new-found desire for interaction…you might actually have to shut up and listen. The need for you to get your point across could be so intense that you might forget that listening, understanding, and acknowledging is part of a conversation — probably the most important part.

Things will be coming at you fast and furiously; it is vital that you don’t forget to breathe. If you meet this energy with that same volatility…misunderstanding, anger, and hurt feelings could knock you off course.  Keep it light and don’t forget to listen to your heart… and to others’ words and intentions.

Below I have noted some important dates and aspects that might help you maneuver your way through the next month and a half.  If you want to fly, you need to know what you are about to navigate:

Dates of note:

  • 3/3 – Mars enters Gemini until April 23
  • 3/13 – 3/17 – Mars sextile Chiron in Aries – Desire to make some progress on healing that old wound.
  • 3/17 – 3/21 – Mars trine Saturn in Aquarius Time to revisit your boundaries.
  • 3/24 – 3/28 – Mars conjunct the North Node in Gemini – Get inspired to move you forward in life.
  • 4/5 – 4/9 – Mars square Neptune in Pisces – Easily distracted, prone to gossip, watch out for infections and viruses.
  • 4/12 – 4/14 – Mars semi-square Uranus in Taurus – Be on alert! Watch where you step and what you say.
  • 4/15 – 4/17 – Mars trine Jupiter in Aquarius– Time to vibe with you tribe; getting the itch to plan a trip.
  • 4/17 – 4/18 – Mars inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn – Awkward!  Need to transform; be the butterfly.
Ceres in Aries – Feb. 22 – May 9, 2021

Ceres in Aries – Feb. 22 – May 9, 2021

On February 22, the dwarf planet Ceres will leave Pisces and enter into Aries until May 9. Ceres had been in Pisces a significant portion of 2020, due to her retrograde, but now she is moving into Aries and her focus (and ours) will shift dramatically around the things that nourish our souls.

While in Pisces, Ceres focuses on illness, loss, grief, and the cycle of death and rebirth. In the last year we have all experienced dealing with these themes.  During this period, you may have had to make significant sacrifices to continue to survive, or your survival may have been challenged by unforeseen circumstances. Ceres has been sitting at the last degree of Pisces (29˚) over the course of time that the winter storm Uri and the Polar Vortex ripped across the U.S.; many have suffered as this ‘critical’ degree was activated strongly by this dwarf planet.

Ceres (Demeter in Greek mythology) is the goddess of agriculture and the harvest; she also represents how we give and receive nurturing. The most well-known myth about this goddess is when Pluto (her brother) kidnapped her daughter (with her other brother Jupiter) Persephone and spirited her away to the Underworld.  Ceres’ grief was so terrible that she refused to allow the plants to grow, causing great famine.  Jupiter had to intervene with Pluto, and he agreed to return Persephone to her mother, but she had eaten food from the Underworld, so she had to return to Hades four months of the year (Winter).  During that time, things are dormant; nothing grows until Persephone returns to her mother in Spring and stays with her until the end of the harvest season.

So now that you have a better picture of Ceres as the deeply devoted nurturer… how do you find her in your chart?  The symbol/glyph for this goddess is a scythe, but also looks a bit like a ‘?’ sitting on a ‘+’ in your chart.  Some astrological programs automatically add Ceres, Juno, Pallas Athena, and Vesta (the last four goddesses are classified as asteroids). Ceres was officially upgraded to a dwarf planet in 2006, along with Pluto, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea. Where she sits in your chart affects how you nurture others and how you need to be nurtured in return.

{Tip: If you go to Foxy Astrology (right under my blog posts on the homepage) you will see a link to create your birth chart. Once you enter your information and draft your chart, you can look under ‘settings’, select ‘planets/asteroids’, and check the box next to ‘Ceres’.

Now Ceres is leaving the soft, sensitive, mutability of Pisces for Aries, and the focus of our nurturing will shift. The first degree of Aries (0˚) is very important. Not only is this a critical degree, but it is the beginning of the zodiac and known as the Aries Point.  Aries rules the 1st house of the self; with Ceres moving into Aries, the focus will shift to fiery, passionate, and actionable energy. It is time to call back your energy and pursue the things that nurture and nourish your soul.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

I have done more astrological readings then I can count, and they all boil down to people wanting to know about two things: love and money.  Venus happens to rule both of these two things; she is also the ruler of the 2nd house (Taurus — the things that we love and value) and the 7th house (Libra —  the house of marriage and contractual relationships).

Love supposedly makes the world go round, but let’s face it – love can also make people a little crazy.  People who don’t have it, want it…and people that have it often find that it doesn’t always bring the happiness and fulfillment that they imagined.  The really crazy thing is that there is so much more to a person than just love and money.  Don’t get me wrong — they are important pieces of the pie, but most people focus on these aspects alone and lose sight of the big picture.  A good astrological reading can provide so much insight, and yet we still want/need these “things” above all others — particularly the love bit.

Where Venus is located in your chart is very important; you can get a free birth chart at Foxy Astrology so you can locate her. Just knowing where Venus lives in your chart can tell you a lot about what your wants and needs are. Often these will be expanded by Jupiter aspects, could be made long-term by Saturn aspects, or if the Sun is involved you could really be feeling yourself (and someone else too).  Anytime you have Venus in a harmonious aspect with these guys it normally means things are happening in the fun, romance, or maybe even the serious commitment department.

Harmonious aspects are conjunctions (0 – 3˚), sextiles (60˚) or trines (120˚), but if you are looking for love then there a few areas of your chart that can clue you in on if you are putting your aspects to good use.  I mean, why waste your time on Mr./Mrs. Right when you might only be in the market for Mr./Mrs. Right Now?

I Just Wanna Have Some Fun!

The 5th house, where Leo resides (although your 5th house is most likely in another sign), rules love, romance, play, and is all about the fun.  If you have Venus, Jupiter or the Sun moving through this house or aspecting one of your planets in this house — bada bing, get ready for a fling. That doesn’t mean it won’t be more — but knowing the energy will help you just relax and enjoy without putting all your cards on the table.

Put A Ring On It

The 7th house is where Libra resides in the main chart and is ruled by Venus. This house is often call “the House of Marriage” and it represents contractual, long-term relationships. If Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, the Sun or any combo of these celestial bodies are moving into the 7th house in your chart, you might be hearing wedding bells… or at least signing a lease with someone.  The year that I got married — more than 20 years ago — Saturn was moving into my 7th house. I’m still married today… so, thanks Saturn!

Checked the Progressed

If you haven’t had your progressed chart done and you are looking for long-term love, it can be really helpful.  The Moon represents our emotions and internal life. The progressed moon moving through your 7th house can be great indication that a significant union could be in your future.  If you are over 35, then getting a progressed reading can be very expansive for all areas of your life since you have evolved a bit since birth.  If you are considering a long-term union getting a synastry reading (comparing two charts) is a very helpful.  Learning about the strengths and weaknesses of your relationship with your Mr./Mrs. Right can help you take your relationship to a deeper level of understanding for both of you.

Crazy in Love

In the immortal words of Freddy Mercury, “I kinda like it, crazy little thing called love!” And why?  Because love has spiritual and chemical dimension and nothing else can compare to that blissful release of dopamine and oxytocin — that intoxicating feeling of being completely alive.

Chariklo in Aquarius – until February 2028

Chariklo in Aquarius – until February 2028

You might be asking yourself, “WTF is Chariklo!” Ok, so she’s a bit on the esoteric-side, but if you gotten this far…come closer, ahem, but not that close.  Chariklo is Chiron’s wife and she is all about the boundaries.

You know who Chiron is, right?  Besides the hubby of the most noble and giving soul in the universe, Chariklo — he is the wounded healer. Most astrologers treat him like a planet these days even though he is an asteroid, but not just any asteroid. Chiron is a centaur that represents that wound that you get to carry around with you for your entire incarnation on your current wheel of fortune.  Just wait until you hit 50/51 and you get to experience your first Chiron return.  Good times!

Chariklo recently entered into Aquarius where she will remain until early February of 2028.  As the 11th sign of the zodiac, Aquarius rules your social circle—yes, even all those ridiculous groups that you join on social media for no good reason. The 11th house also possesses a humanitarian aspect to things — especially in relationship to any projects that you may get involved with.

There is a ginormous stellium (when three or more planets, celestial objects, etc., converge in a sign or house) that is growing in Aquarius with the Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury Rx, and Pallas Athena.  That is a lot of energy in that 11th house, not to mention the Aquarius New Moon will be happening on 2/11.  Now Chariklo is in there for the long-haul (2/2028) so she is a little late to the party, but she is ready to get down with her bad self — literally just herself.

Even though Chariklo is classified as a centaur asteroid, technically she is a nymph. She holds space for her hubby, the wounded healer (Chiron), but she also represents the personal process of individuation.  She holds the “space” that you need to achieve a sense of “self” that is separate from the others so you can consciously co-exist in this world. If your mind is blown, fantastic!  You are in the right place.

So as Chariklo moves through Aquarius/11th house, this eight-year transit will be about establishing boundaries for yourself in relationship to the groups of which you are a part.  It is important that you can see beyond the boundaries of the current collective social structure. That is why being conscious about the groups you join or participate in is important.

Time is the most precious commodity that we have; Chariklo can help you to make sure that you don’t waste another precious minute.  Chariklo will give you the grace to look beyond the boundaries of your existing social networks so that you can co-exist with your peeps, without losing your sense of self.

Look and see where Aquarius is in your chart; you can go to Foxy Astrology to get a free birth chart. See what house Aquarius rules in your chart.  That is the area of life where you might consider where your current relationship boundaries stand and if they need a bit of an overhaul.  This won’t happen overnight, but you might already be seeing some signs of where you need to establish, or reestablish, your sovereign space.

Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius – Jan. 30-Feb. 20, 2021

Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius – Jan. 30-Feb. 20, 2021

Ready for a rewind of the mind?  The first Mercury retrograde of 2021 is here and will herald an entire year of Mercury retrograding in air signs.

Mercury goes retrograde typically three times per year.  Some years we might get an extra one, like a bonus track, but the rule of thumb is three.  This portends a time for miscommunication, technical difficulties, travel challenges, etc. However, it can also present a great opportunity to do a rewind on anything in your life that involves communications – so, essentially everything – but you can narrow down the tracks by knowing what house Aquarius rules in your chart.  You can go to Foxy Astrology and get a free birth chart to find this information.

In 2020, Mercury started all of his retrograde periods in water signs (Pisces 2/17, Cancer 6/18, Scorpio 10/14). In 2021 we have all three Mercury retrogrades in air signs:

  • Aquarius – 1/30 – 2/20 (Fixed Air)
  • Gemini – 5/29 – 6/22 (Mutable Air)
  • Libra – 9/27 – 10/18 (Cardinal Air)

Air signs are about communication, thinking, doing, and socialization.  Aquarius traditionally rules the 11th house of the zodiac, which is about the collective, kindred spirits – basically the people you would join a fan club with.

The first retrograde period is in Aquarius with no less than three other planets: Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and the Sun. Add in Mercury going retrograde at 26 degrees and that is a whole lotta of backtracking in Aquarius (fixed air).  Not to mention that this energy will be squaring Uranus in Taurus (fixed earth). This is significant because squaring energy brings on internal conflict, and in two fixed signs this conflict will require change to our perception of the things we love and value.

{ Note – Aquarius and Taurus are both fixed signs, which is a quality know for its stubbornness, but also having what it takes to get the job done.

Music of the spheres anyone?

Mercury and Uranus are harmoniously connected and work together to impact us and our minds. Uranus rules Aquarius, and Mercury rules Gemini — both air signs– and both signs that Mercury will be retrograding in this year.  Mercury guides our conscious thoughts and Uranus guides our unconscious thoughts; they just operate on different levels, like a “chord progression” to produce a harmonic frequency.

Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius.  To understand the lower octave concept, first we have to establish that Mercury is a “personal” planet. This simply means that he impacts our daily life because he moves through the zodiac rather quickly, spending 14 – 30 days in each sign.  Uranus is an “outer” planet that moves slowly and impacts us generationally, spending about seven years in a sign.

During the first Mercury retrograde in Aquarius (while Uranus is in Taurus), our consciousness could take some major quantum  leaps.  This could lead to mental fatigue…especially regarding use of technical devices for communication. So basically, we will all need to take a timeout! If you have considered practicing meditation, this would be the optimal time to start. If you are already a meditator, get ready to connect to the music of the spheres!

Having three retrograde periods, all in air signs, will actually provide a great opportunity to tune into the multiple “Aha!” moments we will all be experiencing. This year is one that will definitely blow our minds!

Venus in Aquarius – February 1-25

Venus in Aquarius – February 1-25

Are you ready to fall in love?  Venus will be entering into Aquarius on February 1st and staying afloat there until the 25th.  In Aquarius, Venus can let her hair down and sometimes will let her freak flag fly… which will most likely be the case since she will be squaring Uranus in Taurus for almost a week (Feb. 3 – 10). Do you know what house Aquarius rules in your chart?  You can go to Foxy Astrology and get a free birth chart; look and see what house Aquarius is in and see how this free-lovin’ energy is going to impact you. Venus isn’t just about the way we love; she is also about the things that we value.

Co-ruled by Uranus and Saturn, Aquarius is a contradiction that makes sense in collaboration. In Aquarius we value not only the scientific hypothesis (Uranus), but also the proving of the theory (Saturn). Aquarius is Fixed Air, which also seems like a contradiction in terms.  How do you stop the unstoppable? The unpredictable?  Well, maybe it’s time for a bit of a shake-up in the love department and explore the possibilities as Venus gets her groove on.

There will be four other planets moving through Aquarius, and Venus will take a turn on the metaphorical dance floor with each one: Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury Rx. This could lead to controlled chaos within your closest relationships, but also some much needed growth through exploration.

When Venus squares Uranus in Taurus, sudden changes to money and love could crop up.  It’s imperative to be flexible and observant.  How do you feel: fear, exhilaration, anger, elation? How can you best use this energy to breakthrough any stagnation and move forward?

We have been locked down for almost an entire year, so it is crucial that you get an opportunity to break free of this “Groundhog Day,” existence that we find ourselves living.  We have had many opportunities to review our closest relationships during this unprecedented time; what have you learned?  What do you love and value now that you have been “tested”?

Venus likes to do things differently while she is moving though Aquarius. You can use this energy to get back in touch with your best mates on a zoom call, join an online community that explores one of your secret desires, or start planning an “in-person” event for later this year.  Venus in Aquarius is in love with life and limitless possibilities.  We could all use a shot of that right about now!

Neptune square the Nodes of the Moon – January 26, 2021

Neptune square the Nodes of the Moon – January 26, 2021

A long-running configuration of Neptune — squaring the Nodes of the Moon and creating a t-square — will perfect on January 26, 2021.  Now is the time to understand that our past (South Node in Sagittarius) is just a reference point that can inform our journey ahead (North Node in Gemini) as we continuously consult our imagination (Neptune in Pisces), and navigate our path to the future.

Neptune is in his rulership of Pisces at 18 degrees. Neptune went retrograde at 20 degrees of Pisces at the end June 2020 and stayed retrograde for almost five months. He retrograded all the way back to 18 degrees, where he has remained since early October 2020.  On January 26, Neptune will move into the 19th degree of Pisces and exactly square both the North Node in Gemini (our collective destiny) and the South Node in Sagittarius (our collective karma) — both at 19 degrees of the Gemini/Sagittarius axis, which is about information and freedom.

This is a very important time for us individually, and collectively for humanity, but it all begins with what’s going on inside of you. Neptune rules the 12th house, where your emotions, compassion, and imagination reside. This t-square invites you to consider your thoughts, hopes, and dreams for yourself and for the world.

What is a T-Square?

Basically, the t-square configuration is an isosceles triangle, which is simply a triangle with two sides that are the same length.  So, you have a 90 degree angle, another 90 degree angle, both known as “squares,” and a 180 degree opposition connecting them.

Squares indicate inner conflict and oppositions reflect outer conflict. If you apply this to Neptune squaring both of the Nodes — who are always in opposition — then this t-square is about releasing the collective past in order to envision a new collective future.  The question is: how do we do that when Neptune keeps fogging up the road ahead?

The Challenge

Envisioning a new collective future can be difficult when we are so divided from our past, but let’s look at the houses and signs associated with this t-square.

  • Our future (North Node) lies in Gemini/3rd house, ruled by Mercury, who dictates how we communicate and perceive.
  • Our past (South Node) lies in Sagittarius/9th house, ruled by Jupiter, who expands our knowledge, our experiences, and our beliefs.
  • Our reality (Neptune) lies in Pisces/12th house, ruled by Neptune, who can cloud our judgment, hide the truth of our reality, but also allow us to create new worlds.

The 3rd, 9th, and 12th houses are to do with the mind, higher wisdom, and the psyche.  Basically, we are all “tripping” through the universe of our imagined reality at the moment, but it’s time to get serious.  We have an opportunity to effect tremendous change by shifting our focus.

The Shift

Remember, your focus determines your reality. Instead of looking in that rearview mirror all the time…keep your eyes on the road ahead so you can better navigate the journey before you.  This will require inner focus, discernment, and imagination working in harmony to shift from the narrative of the past to the potential of the future.

Eris square Pluto – 2021

Eris square Pluto – 2021

As I write this, Eris is stationing to go direct on Jan. 10; she has been retrograde since July 20, 2020.  In her retrograde phase she helps us identify our lack of self-love and how we can sabotage ourselves by not knowing what we are truly made of.

“Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.” ~Frank Herbert

Eris and Pluto will square exactly three times in 2021, but essentially this energy will permeate our consciousness all year long.  This powerful energy between the goddess of discord and the great transformer will help us continue our transition into the Age of Aquarius and also through the Pluto Return of the US (2022 – 2024).

Eris and Pluto met up several times in 2020 at 23-24 degrees of Aries/Capricorn. One such meet-cute was right around the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, which was on June 15 in Sagittarius. They continued their square beyond the New Moon Solar Eclipse on June 21 at zero degrees of Cancer, which activated the Aries Point.  Zero degrees of any of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will activate this point, which is the beginning of the Zodiac and very powerful.  Also, Cardinal signs create action- often in very sudden bursts.

If you have anything around 23-24 degrees of the Cardinal signs, you surely felt this “awakening” or “clarion call” to take your power back in this area (the houses where your Capricorn and Aries rule – these will tell you the part of your life in which this is happening). Go to Foxy Astrology and get a free natal chart. Since Eris is a dwarf planet, she won’t be on the chart. However, anyone born from April 1925 on will have Eris in Aries in their natal chart.  Why? Well, Eris is far out, and she moves very slowly… biding her time and plotting her revenge, and then she strikes swiftly. She will remain in Aries until 2044.

Eris is the sister of Aries and plays his female warrior counterpart, but she is a bit darker as her energy isn’t just about violence and fury.  No, this bitch is all about strife and discord.  Unlike her brother who will rest after a good battle, she will be out on the battlefield severing the heads of the dead and putting them up on spikes, like a grim version of an HGTV design show.

This reputation as a trouble-maker has roots in the mythology of Eris; one legend has her showing up to a wedding uninvited. (Anyone else getting Maleficent vibes here?) She threw out a golden apple (Snow White vibes) labeled “For the Fairest”… which Hera (Juno), Athena, and Aphrodite (Venus) then fought over in a dispute that lasted many years, eventually leading to the Trojan War.

Eris was discovered in January of 2005, from a picture that was taken in 2003. She is technically the 10th planet in our solar system although she dwarfs Pluto in density (insert eye-roll here). That next year (2006), instead of giving Eris her due, the powers that be decided to instead categorize her as a dwarf planet… and downgrade Pluto as well.  Needless to say, downgrading Pluto wasn’t popular… so now he is back in the fold. Eris, however, still got the shaft (damn the patriarchy).

At first they named the newfound dwarf planet Xena, but in 2006 changed it to Eris.  It’s interesting to note that Lucy Lawless played Xena the Warrior Princess on the TV show, and they ended up naming Eris’ moon Dysnomia (anarchy/lawlessness) after Eris’ daughter. Originally the moon was called Gabriella — another nod to the TV show.  Also, Eris is the daughter of Nyx, the goddess of night, which is the name of a very successful makeup line. It is said that even Zeus (Jupiter) feared Nyx.

I personally love Eris. Technically, a planet enters our consciousness after discovered, but this bad bitch has been giving us the side-eye for a long time.  Eris is the wild feminine in Aries, which means she won’t stop until she gets what she came for, and she won’t conform to gender clichés. I don’t always appreciate her methods, but she gets the job done.

Saturn square Uranus – 2021

Saturn square Uranus – 2021

They say that opposites attract, and sometimes that attraction causes enough sparks to make you pay closer attention. Where your attention goes, energy flows! This year Saturn in Aquarius will exactly square Uranus in Taurus three times: Feb. 17, Jun. 14, and Dec. 24.  These squares will help us continue making the transition between the Piscean and Aquarian Ages.  Indeed, we will feel this energy all throughout 2021.

A square in astrology creates tension; it’s considered a “disharmonious” aspect that often presents itself as an obstacle or a challenge.  This square will be operational most of the year, so expect the unexpected! Saturn is moving though Aquarius (fixed air) for the next 2.5 years and he is a co-ruler of this sign along with Uranus who is moving through Taurus (fixed earth) until April of 2026.

Fixed signs offer stability so that things can take root… eventually growing into something completely new. When a planet is moving through a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), it provides great focus.

Saturn and Uranus are essentially diametrically opposed. Their synodic cycle (the relationship between any two planets) spins around the creation of new ideas, fresh circumstances, and innovations – often resulting from a crisis point.  Saturn represents tradition, structure, law, rules, regulation, restrictions, and hard work. Uranus embodies freedom, eccentricity, innovation, sudden change, surprises, and miracles.

There are many myths that involve these two — usually in some kind of tussle.  In mythology,  Saturn – the lord of karma — is the son of Uranus (the sky god). The conflict embodied between these two, in terms of squaring energy, can create almost anything that the mind can conceive.

Take a look at what houses are ruled by Aquarius and Taurus in your natal chart.  This is where you can “expect the unexpected” this year, particularly around those three dates when the square perfects.  You can get a free birth chart on Foxy Astrology, and determine what areas of life this square will impact for you.

This is a building year; a year to focus on anything you want to be, to do, or to have. It would be the perfect year to start regularly meditating, doing yoga, or any practice that facilitates focusing your thoughts and energy on what you want to create for yourself and the world.
