March Mayhem

March Mayhem

Let’s talk about the beginning of March and the Pisces New Moon that is happening on Wednesday, March 2, at 12:36 EST.  There is a large stellium building in Pisces this New  Moon. We also have Mars exactly conjuncting Pluto on the same day being backed up by Venus and the dwarf planet Vesta.  This is decision time.

What do you want, I mean really want deep in your soul? Mars is in the last few degrees of Capricorn conjuncting Pluto.  This conjunction happens every two-ish couple of years, but this is special because Mars is in his exaltation in Capricorn, and Venus, his lover, is along for the ride.  Like Bonnie and Clyde they are heading into Aquarius, but firs they are going to pull into the  Underworld (Pluto)  b for a brief pitstop.  This conjunction with Pluto is about deep transformation regarding your desires and your values.

Don’t forget that Saturn, in Aquarius, will be exactly conjunct Mercury on the same day, and this is about long-term manifestation and commitment regarding what you are focusing on.  So if Mars and Venus come up from the Underworld it could be a rebirth that looks more like a great escape in a hail of bullets, so you’d better have your noggin’ in the right place.

With the energy of Jupiter conjunct the Moon and Sun in Pisces, it’s time to, “Go big, or go home,” with your dreams.  Jupiter loves to take a risk and all of these celestial objects in Pisces are harmoniously sextiling Uranus in Taurus, so could be the right time to look for a miracle (wink, wink) or at least a colossal new beginning.

Let’s face it, you are manifesting all the time, whether you are doing it consciously or unconsciously. If you can feel this energy growing in intensity then your consciousness is ready to take charge, but like any good opportunist, you will need a plan.  Focus, dammit, focus!  Write down three things you wish for and use this Bonnie and Clyde energy surge to propel you forward.  You will either walk away a fool, or a queen.

The Sun will exactly conjunct Jupiter on Saturday, March 5 and this can help you on your journey.  This conjunction will take you deep – right down to the bottom of your soul, and it is there in the darkness where you have the chance to face your truth and then create the truth you want to consciously create. You see, if you consciously get into the drivers seat you could choose your next destination as Mars and Venus head into future (Aquarius) on Sunday, March 6, reborn.  Anything is possible, so straighten your crown and go get it GIRL!

Jupiter in Pisces 2022

Jupiter in Pisces 2022

“Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the ‘Titanic’ that waved off the dessert cart.”

  ~ Erma Bombeck

Typically, I don’t like to think about the movie Titanic, because my older brother looks quite a bit like Leonardo DiCaprio.  This probably sounds like a great problem to have; however, I avoid Mr. DiCaprio’s films because he always seems to die, or almost die, and I find it so difficult to watch.  When his character drowns (sorry, spoilers!) I felt like I was having a heart attack! I literally wanted to scream “Rose, move your ass over and let him up on that door!”  There was definitely room, amiright?

The titanic planet Jupiter entered Pisces (again) on the 28th of December 2021.  This expansive gas giant took a brief dip into the deeply spiritual world of Pisces from May 14, 2021 to July 29, 2021, but only made it as far as 2 degrees. However, that did give us a little preview of the first half of 2022.

The orbit of Jupiter typically means that he spends about 12 months in a sign, but since last year he seems to be fond of running through a sign in the first half of the year and previewing the next during the summer months.  Now he will be moving very swiftly through Pisces and then into Aries (5/11 – 10/28) for several months.

Jupiter is known as the “Great Benefic”.  He expands whatever he touches, and he rules the 9th house of knowledge and understanding. This is where it gets interesting…Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces. Neptune is the “modern” ruler (since he was only discovered in the last 100 years).  So technically, Jupiter and Neptune co-rule the 12th house of Pisces, and guess what? They are going to be in Pisces at the same time and will exactly conjunct on April 12, 2022.  These two sailors will hold each other in thrall  (1 degree orb) from 4/7 – 4/17. These two only conjunct every 13 years and won’t be conjunct in their rulership again in our lifetime… so it’s time to plot your course.

With Jupiter transiting here for a significant portion of the year, we will definitely see the expansion of creativity.  Look and see what houses these signs rule in your chart and this will help you establish the themes of expansion for you in 2022. You can find out more about what part of your life is ruled by Pisces by plotting your Natal Chart for free at FoxyAstrology.com

Pisces rules the 12th house, which is all about exploring your deepest dreams… but there can be a tendency to get lost in the deep, murky waters of the unconscious.  With Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces you could be lost in flights of fancy, living outside of the bounds of reality, or being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.  It will be important to know when to drop anchor and plot a new course.

How do you make the most of this Jupiter cycle during his rulership?  Look and see what house is ruled by Pisces in your chart.  That is where you will feel the expansion in your life. This will be especially intense for anyone with their Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or North/South Nodes. If you have anything from 20 – 29 degrees of Pisces, or any of the other mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius), or any of the other water signs (Cancer, Scorpio) you will really be able to creatively expand your life.  Everyone in the collective will benefit from this energy, but it is important to meet this energy with intention and action.

With the jovial vibe of Jupiter in Pisces, we can see the creation of more fantastical media, beautiful music, art, and poetry. Perhaps we will see people giving up everything to finally chase their dreams and get their “just desserts”.

Venus Retrograde 2021 – 2022

Venus Retrograde 2021 – 2022

Most often when someone wants an astrological reading from me they are focused on love and money; but there are so many other items of interest revealed in a natal chart.  I believe that this obsession is due to the universal misconception that these two factors make the world go round. But let’s face it — you can have love and money, but until you determine what you really value in life you may not appreciate or cherish either of those things.  Why is this?  Well, you’ll soon have some time to unravel that conundrum, because Venus is about to go retrograde.

Typically Venus is in a sign for 20 days, give or take.  She is a fast mover and like Mars and Mercury, her orbit tends to have a more tangible influence over our daily life.  She is never that far from your Sun sign in your natal chart.  (To get a free birth chart you can go to FoxyAstrology.com and create your own birth chart). And if you are lucky enough to have her conjunct your Sun or your Ascendent, then whatever “It” is… you will likely have “It”.  I have noticed that people with their Sun or Ascendent conjunct their natal Venus are just more attractive to others.  They may or may not be beautiful to look at, but more often I find that they possess a beautiful soul that simply glows!

Regardless of where Venus is in your natal chart, she will come into a conjunction with transiting Venus once a year (a.k.a. your Venus Return).  That is a time where everyone gets their moment to shine!  You will simply be “more” as you get your soul-glow on!  This is a perfect time to go on a retreat, get a new hairstyle, buy something that you really desire (like beautiful piece of jewelry), or just spend time with that special someone and make memories together.

When Venus goes retrograde she is going to spend a record four months in the “ambitchous” sign of Capricorn.  She will not move into Aquarius until the beginning of March 2022.  Capricorn is all about the “climb”, and that includes your career and social profile in the world.  This 10th house ruler will have you making some deep observations about the long-term, especially when it comes to your career, your relationship, your finances, and your larger materials possessions like your home and car.

Venus shines a light on the things that we love and value.  If we don’t see the value in something, then why would we love it?  Value is about worth, importance, and yes…usefulness.  So while this beauty is retrograding in Capricorn, it is the perfect time to do some re-evaluating of those things that you have attributed value to in the past. Perhaps they need a once-over?  Are they reliable? Do they bring you contentment? Can they help you with your future goals?  These are all good questions to consider.  Perhaps the most important question is, “Do they add beauty to your life?” … remembering that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Venus in Capricorn Dates:

  • 11/5/21 – Venus entered Capricorn
  • 12/19/21 – Venus Stations Retrograde at 26 degrees
  • 1/29/22 – Venus Stations Direct at 11 degrees
  • 3/6/22 Venus enters Aquarius
Eclipses & Metonic Cycles

Eclipses & Metonic Cycles

Are you ready for new adventures — ready to get back out in the world?  We find ourselves in the middle of Eclipse Season and the eclipses are happening on the Sagittarius/9th house and Gemini/3rd house axis.  The axis represents the quest for knowledge and the ability to expand our horizons by having the freedom to explore the world and the people living in it.

Eclipses are big leaps forward in consciousness and can impact you for many months after they happen.  They occur in conjunction with the nodes of the Moon. The Moon’s nodes are the two points where the lunar orbit passes through the plane of the ecliptic (the plane of the earth’s orbit round the Sun). These points determine where and when the eclipses happen.  The North Node of the Moon represents our collective future destiny, or our dharma.  The South Node represents our collective past, or our karma.  We spend a good deal of time dealing with the past, so karma is a term that most of us are familiar with… but it is your dharma that you are here to pursue.

The nodes spend about 18 months in each of the six axes: Aries/Libra, Taurus/Scorpio, Gemini/Sagittarius, Cancer/Capricorn, and Leo/Aquarius. Like most things in life, there is a cycle that governs the eclipses called the Metonic Cycle, which takes approximately 18-19 years.

The last time the Lunar Nodes were in the Gemini/Sagittarius axis in the same combination (North Node/Gemini and South Node/Sagittarius) was October 2001 to April 2003. Think back to this time and see how events then mirror what is happening in your life now.  Usually there are echoes of the past.  If you moved during this time, started a new job, recovered from an accident or illness… chances are you are experiencing similar events, or comparable energy.  You can even go back a further 18-19 years — March 1983 to September 1984 — and look for parallels from that period when the nodes were also in Gemini and Sagittarius.

The Full Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse that happened on 5/26 (at 5 degrees of Sagittarius) was a huge release. As we prepare for the 6/10 New Moon, Annular, Solar Eclipse we have an opportunity to use the power of this Gemini/Sagittarius axis to create some superpowered, new intentions as we move forward.

We will have another series of eclipses towards the end of this year (Nov/Dec 2021); the Lunar Eclipse in November will be in Taurus, which will indicate that the nodes are getting ready to shift in early January 2022 into the Taurus/Scorpio axis. The last eclipse of the year is a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius happening in December. As the nodes shift into a new axis, our collective focus will shift to 2nd house (Taurus)/8th house (Scorpio) matters. These are all about personal vs. shared resources — tangible (money, food, shelter) and intangible (resilience, perseverance, kindness).

These cycles can help us to see how we are coming along in our path of evolution.  It gives us an opportunity to use our life experience to make better decisions by evaluating our dharma/karma — in other words, where we are coming from and where we want to go.  Look and see where these axes are in your chart.  Knowing this information will help you to recognize the areas of your life where you have extra opportunities to work with the energies of the universe to reflect/release the past (karma) and embrace/navigate your future (dharma).

Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius

Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius

Every year Saturn goes retrograde and it gives us time to review the last 6 – 7 months.  This is the perfect time to do the necessary checks and balances, which will kick our ass if we don’t see to them first.  That’s because Saturn is the Lord of Karma and when he is retrograde it is time for the karmic cleanse. Saturn is retrograde from May 23 – October 10 and he will be bringing the discipline and leadership that we all need.

This retrograde will be interesting because Saturn has been moving through Aquarius —the sign of the humanitarian and the progressive, since last December.  It is rather obvious that we are in the midst of sweeping changes to society, and that is predominately due to Saturn and Jupiter (currently in Pisces until July 28) both moving through this fixed air sign.  As the collective consciousness continues to transform we can feel this shift building to a crescendo. With Saturn retrograde, it is time to re-evaluate how we live, and how we can do that in harmony with people and the planet.

Last year Saturn was retrograde in Capricorn, a sign he is most often associated with and rules. However, Saturn is also the ancient ruler of Aquarius, co-ruling with Uranus (ironically his father, and not the best when it comes to parenting). Saturn is squaring Uranus in Taurus all year. A square brings internal conflict, and Taurus represents the things that we love and value: money, food, shelter, etc., and Aquarius is about the future of humanity.  As Uranus continues to square Saturn he is literally pushing him, all year long, into seeing those foundational things from a different vantage point — constantly giving contrast so we can push past the old and embrace the future.

With Saturn back-tracking we might feel the need to rebel against anything that seems to be holding us back.  That could include, jobs, friends, relationships, personal goals, etc. Chances are we will revisit our own personal dreams and needs and realize that it’s time to brake out of old patterns so we can embrace and acknowledge our growth.

Taking a look at the big-picture, globally this is about changing systems that have become outdated and no longer serve that values (that are changing) or the greater good of the collective.  Saturn loves structure, but Saturn retrograde takes a look at what no longer is working and determines the best way to fix it.  This is accomplished by creating new pathways and opportunities for leadership that help everyone as we move into the future.

Take a look at your birth chart; you can get a free one at Foxy Astrology.  You will want to see what house is ruled by Aquarius in your chart and that will tell you what area of life you will be reviewing during this retrograde.  For all of us, this retrograde will impact the groups that we are a part of and could spark your activism. Perhaps you will change political affiliation or start a new spiritual practice. Whatever “it” is, it will become more evident as the summer comes to a close.  Saturn still has several more years —and a few more retrogrades— in Aquarius so this is just the beginning of a long transformation.

Saturn is the great guru, and sometimes his lessons can be challenging, but ultimately we are here to learn. If we pay attention to what Saturn is teaching us individually we can make quantum leaps in our own destinies and those of the collective.

Jupiter in Pisces

Jupiter in Pisces

Want to know your future?  Sure, you do.  Well, you are in luck because on May 13, Jupiter will enter Pisces for two and a half months; during this time, you will get a ‘sneak peek’ of what he will have in store for you in 2022.

Jupiter moving into another sign in the middle of the year is rather unusual since Jupiter has a 12 year orbit, spending about one year in each zodiac sign.  However, he has literally sprinted through the sign of Aquarius this year and is preparing to take a dive into the ethereal waters of his ancient rulership, Pisces. The modern-day ruler is Neptune, who is also currently moving through Pisces and is in the last ten degrees of a sign.  Neptune is also getting ready to go retrograde (Rx) on June 25 – December 1.  Having both of these planets in rulership at the same time makes Pisces super-powered!

Let’s Talk about the Big Guy, Shall We?

That’s right – if you hadn’t already guessed it, Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar System — dwarfed only by the Sun.  The last time Jupiter was in Pisces was during 2010.  You might think back to that time and see if you are experiencing any echoes from the past. What was going on in your life in 2010? What did you do for work? Where did you live? Who was in you daily life?

Jupiter is known as the ‘Great Benefic,’ and generally expands whatever he touches. This can lead to more money, more fun, even more beauty. However, if he is moving through the sign of your Sun, Moon, or Ascendant he can also expand your waistline and your spending.  Generally, though, he is thought to be a bringer of luck and good fortune.

House Rules

It is important that you know which house in your chart is ruled by Pisces. Pisces is the last sign in the Zodiac, and he inhabits the 12th house.

  • The 12th house is thought to contain aspects of all the other signs. It is literally the unconscious of the entire zodiac — boundless, and therefore encompassing a bit of all the signs’ characteristics.  This makes it complicated and vast, but also fragile and mystical.
  • Pisces is mutable water and can flow like the stream of consciousness that it governs.  People that have many placements, or prominent ones, such as Neptune, Jupiter, the Sun, Moon, or their Ascendant, often have one foot in this realm and one in the next.  If you have placements in Pisces, or the 12th house, you may be an empath, psychic, healer, or all of the above.

The 9th house (Sagittarius) is where Jupiter is thought to rule supreme, but in the 12th house with Neptune…get ready for your wildest dreams to get even wilder. You will also have many opportunities to expand your spiritual (and even psychic) development.

  • If you have a Sun, Moon, Ascendant or any other major placement in the 9th house — or in Sagittarius — you can also benefit from this transit.  Jupiter is optimistic and generous; this could promise big love and abundance.
  • It can also lead to a dark night of the soul, especially if you start to question your spiritual beliefs, are going through a major transit like a Saturn Return, Chiron Return, or Pluto Square Pluto.  This is when an astrologer can really come in handy to help you navigate through this major life transits, which we all experience throughout our lives.

Jupiter Takes a Dive

This two and a half month window will particularly impact anyone with any placements in the early degrees of Pisces, and also any of the other Mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius.  You will definitely feel the benefit if you have anything in the early degrees of the other water signs — like Cancer and Scorpio, which will trine Jupiter.  Also, early  in the earth signs of Taurus or Capricorn since that energy will be sextile Jupiter in Pisces.

Important Dates:

5/13 – Jupiter leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces

6/20  – Jupiter Rx at 2˚11’ of Pisces

7/28 – Jupiter re-enters Aquarius

10/18 – Jupiter goes Dx at 22˚20’ of Aquarius

12/28 – Jupiter re-enters Pisces and stays there for most of 2022

Jupiter in Pisces is the perfect time to explore the metaphysical, the spiritual, and anything relating to creativity and imagination.  So, sort out your houses, and be prepared for the preview of a lifetime.

Pluto Retrograde – 4/27 – 6/12

Pluto Retrograde – 4/27 – 6/12

We have had a long stretch (since the end of February) without any major retrogrades, but that is about to change.  It’s time for retrograde season to begin!  What’s that?  You’re not looking forward to retrograde season?  Well, that is hard to believe… this is where the deep digging begins as we redo, reevaluate, review, (pretty much anything that begins with “re”) again.  Who doesn’t look forward to that?

Even dear sweet Pluto is making preparations, as he has already begun to station (slow down). It takes him 248 years to orbit the Earth; maybe that’s why he’s a bit of a creeper?  Pluto can spend 14 – 30 years in a sign; he’s been in Capricorn since 2008 and will remain there until 2024.

Pluto will go retrograde on April 27 at 26 degrees and 48 minutes of Capricorn. He will retrograde back to 24 degrees and 19 minutes — like I said, he is a creeper.  He has basically worked his way through Capricorn with three steps forward, two steps back.  This is important because Pluto needs time…time to create transformations that only happen once and change your life forever.

Let’s face it — we have had lots of momentous change across the globe since 2008…thanks, Pluto-in-Capricorn!  Saturn rules Capricorn and is the sign of government oversight, big business, and careers.  However, Pluto is in the last decan of the sea goat, and it is time for some mastery; so, everything becomes a challenge (x 10!)

Note on Decans: each sign has three decans which represent 10 degree segments. So, 0 degrees to 29 degrees of each sign are broken down into:

  • 0 – 9 degrees – “Easy-peasy”;
  • 10 – 19 degrees – “Ok I think I got the hang of this”; and
  • 20 – 29 degrees – “Holy Gail Batman, this is way harder than I thought it was going to be!”

Pluto happens to be in the last decan (20 – 29 degrees) of Capricorn.  That’s right — harder than the search for the Holy Grail, but it probably isn’t what you think it is — follow?

Pluto is about the ginormous reality checks.  If you look back on the biggest turning points in your life, Pluto is probably aspecting one of more of your major placements.  As a matter of fact, if you have anything between 24 – 29 degrees of Capricorn, Pluto is going to be working on you for a while.  It is also a reality check for anyone with placements in the last Decan of any of the Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra Capricorn.

A Pluto transit isn’t always to be feared, but something in your life will transform, and that only comes from the release (death) of something, and the embrace (birth) of something new. When Pluto is retrograde we have an opportunity to integrate all the transformation that we have experienced since he went direct that last time.

Pluto has been direct since 10/4/20.  That gives us, just shy of five months of leveling up and transformation to assimilate into our soul.  We will have until 10/6/21 to manage this process. So, remember, most people had to read The DaVinci Code before they realized that the Holy Gail wasn’t a cup… This is an opportunity to see things from and entirely different perspective and potentially turn some water into wine.

Eris Party in Aries

Eris Party in Aries

The classical story of the Greek goddess Eris crashing the party and starting a mean-girl smack down over a golden apple, eventually ends in the Trojan War.  So, to say that Eris is a bit of an instigator isn’t much of a stretch.  Now Eris (the dwarf planet) is at 24 degrees of Aries and the “par-tay” is coming to her.  She will be experiencing a series of conjunctions over the course of the next several weeks with Venus (4/10), the Sun (4/14), Mercury (4/16), and Ceres (4/23).  Lest we forget, Eris is in a year-long square with Pluto, which you can read more about in my Eris square Pluto blog post.

So how are these interludes with the Goddess of Discord likely to go down?  That’s a good question.  First you should know that if you have any aspects within 22 – 26 degrees of the Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), get ready to feel the burn.  This is about justice for old grievances. People that have felt marginalized and disrespected will have to determine if they want revenge (Eris) or if they want to effect change that will live on long after they are gone.

4/10 – Venus conjunct Eris in Aries is also sextiling Mars in Gemini and, of course, square Pluto in Capricorn.  Venus is about the things that we love, and value, and all of that is changing… so it is time to reevaluate what and who those things are.

4/14 – Sun conjunct Eris will involve your ego. If you are feeling extra “revengy” around this time, remember to temper this energy.  Eris can be really divisive, and you can easily burn bridges.  Look and see what house is ruled by Aries in your chart.  This will indicate the area of life where you might do some damage if you’re operating on auto-pilot.  This is a day to be “present” in your body and fully conscious of your actions.  Fair warning: if this is happening in your 10th house, you might have trouble at work that leads to you walking out…or being escorted by security.

4/16 – Mercury conjunct Eris could grant new insights or understanding around issues or events that have caused feelings of deprecation or disparagement in the past. If you can turn off your flame-thrower for a sec, you might understand the reasons behind whatever incidents created those feelings to begin with.

4/23 – Ceres conjunct Eris is probably the most challenging of all these conjunctions. Ceres indicates the things that nourish us, but also great loss and despair. This can trigger something beyond fear, especially when the survival instincts kick-in and take over. On this day, Venus and Mercury will be conjunct with Uranus in Taurus and that could bring either chaos or catharsis.

It’s really important to note what house these conjunctions (including any aspects that might be involved), to 24 degrees of Aries, are happening in.  You can get a free birth chart at Foxy Astrology, and this will inform you of what area/areas of life you should consider being more mindful of during this time.

Bottom line: This is a radical two weeks of deep change that can get you closer to your end-game or throw you way off course.  Consider being an observer first and maintain a “check yourself before you wreck yourself” mindset. If used wisely, these powerful conjunctions can be life-changing.  However, without setting intentions for the highest and greatest good for all — we could be cleaning up from this party for a very, very long time.

Venus on Fire

Venus on Fire

Do you know what your Venus sign is?  This is the sign that Venus was in at the time of your birth.  You can go to Foxy Astrology and create your birth chart to find this placement.  Every eight years we experience a Venus Return, which is when transiting Venus returns to the same place in the sky where it was when you were born.

Because of the shape of Venus’s orbit, it is probably pretty close to your Sun sign — usually never more than one or two signs away. If you have Venus conjunct or within the same sign as your Sun, then you are almost guaranteed to possess a beautiful soul; one that gives you that “special something” that folks just can’t put their finger on.  Whatever “it” is… you most likely have “it!”

The relationship between your Venus and your Sun can tell a lot about who and what attracts you.  Venus is the ruler of the things we love and value.  If Venus comes before your Sun in your natal chart then she is expressed as the ‘Morning Star’ and you are more direct in your relationships.  You might prefer getting straight to business and save the foreplay for another day. If Venus comes after your Sun, then she takes on the guise of the ‘Evening Star’ and as such, prefers to wait for the object of her desire to make the first moves. This is the signature of a person that likes to be romanced and enjoys the build-up before the pay-off.

Full Moon in Libra

March 28 is the Full Moon at 8 degrees and 18 minutes of Libra, but opposing this celestial body is a hella stellium (three or more celestial objects in a sign or house) in Aries. This cadre of celestial combustion consists of: Kassandra, the Sun, Chiron, and Venus.  Let’s break this down:

  • Kassandra is the quintessential victim of the narcissist but possesses the gift of premonition;
  • The Sun represents our true self — our ego;
  • Chiron represents our wound; and
  • Venus represents the things that we love and value.

Theses influences will all be conjunct in Aries — the first sign and of the zodiac — representing the self. The Full moon will be working on finding equilibrium in Libra.  Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and represents your relationship to others. Full Moons are a time of release and this could be a fantastic opportunity for profound healing; especially around issues from early life that might still be holding you back.

The work you do at this time is crucial to moving forward.  Only a few weeks away is the New Moon in Aries and this will be time to test out this Full Moon recalibration.

New Moon in Aries

This is really the beginning of the end of old patterns and is important as we move into April. We find yet another stellium at the end of Aries, during the Aries New Moon (4/11) with the Sun conjunct the Moon at 22 degrees and 24 minutes of Aries.  Ceres will be at the front of this divine feminine renewal, reminding us of what we need to nourish ourselves. Venus will continue traveling with the Sun, but will be joining Eris — the goddess of discord — who reminds us to do just a tiny bit of harm, and take no sh*t.

Look as see what sign and house your natal Venus is in and use the energy of these two Moons to reevaluate how that is changing. Venus will help you determine what you need to nourish yourself now. This New Moon presents us with a lot of divine feminine energy, but instead of a traditional soft and ladylike ambience, I think this is an opportunity to turn your engines up to 11 and let them burn brightly in a new way.

Aries Equinox – March 20, 2021

Aries Equinox – March 20, 2021

The Aries Equinox heralds the new astrological year.  Depending on what hemisphere you live in, you are about to enjoy the coming of Spring or Fall; both are lovely in my book.

When the Sun comes back to 0 degrees and 00 minutes of Aries — known as the vernal equinox — it’s a time of the year where the day and the night are in balance (equal in length). This specific degree is known as the Aries Point in astrology. This point vibrates with the other Cardinals signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn).  Zero degrees of any one of the Cardinals signs can be considered the “Aries Point”.  These degrees mark the beginning of the:

  • 1st House – Physical self, personality, early childhood
  • 4th House – Your home, family, ancestry
  • 7th House – Partners, relationships, marriage
  • 10th House – Career, reputation, social responsibility

These houses rule our relationship with ourselves, our family, significant others, and our career. They also represent the beginning point for each of the four seasons. These are the “pillars” of our evolution so, if you have anything near 0 degrees of any of the Cardinal signs…you are really going to feel this renewal of energy.  This is a pattern you may be very familiar with, or this could be the year to start paying attention to how to best tap into this primal energy. You can find the Aries Point in your personal natal chart at Foxy Astrology.  Just click on the “Create Your Birth Chart” link under my blog posts.

Other celestial seeds of influence

Let’s talk about some of the longer-term aspects that are sprinkled in here and what else we celebrate at this time. Resurrection is a major theme at this time of the year.  As we balance the light of the Sun (day) with the dark of the Moon (night), it’s like a reboot not only for the Earth, but for the individual as well.

  • This year the Sun will only be 2 degrees away from Venus in Pisces.  This represents the deepest desires for what we love and value and can give you the motivation you need to be authentic about your choices.
  • Also, there is a stellium in Gemini surrounding the North Node, or the future collective destiny of all of us.  There is Mars at 9 degrees, the North Node at 13 degrees, the Moon at 16 degrees, and Psyche at 18 degrees.  This is very much a focus on the future and learning more about rapid changes to communication, quantum leaps in technology, and how you adjust to living in this new paradigm that changes before you can even master it.  We are all newly born indeed.

A celebration of rebirth

Have you heard of the Germanic goddess known as Ostara?  Her name means, “moving in the direction of the Sun.” When Christians were creating there annual celebrations they often borrowed from their Pagan friends and they adopted the “resurrection” of the Earth to represent the resurrection of Jesus Christ as well.  Ostara became known as Easter.

Just like the Aries point itself, the beginning of the zodiac — as well as the first house of the self — could be represented by the fertilization of the egg; another symbol prevalent at this time of the year.  Who hasn’t enjoyed an afternoon decorating, hiding, and then searching for the bright and colorful Easter eggs? A representation of our inescapable cycle of existence: birth, growth, death, and rebirth.
